Houses for stray dogs

On May 2-3, 2019, members of the Youth Center of Young Pedagogues' Union held several activities in Ozurgeti and Nasakirali within the framework of advocacy of environmental protection and homeless dogs. In the framework of joint activities of Youth Center members and Leaders' School students painted wooden houses for homeless dogs which will be placed on pre-selected locations in the city.

One of the components of the Environmental Advocacy Campaign was the placement of informational banners in the village, which was followed by a cleaning action.

A few weeks earlier, the members of the Center cleaned up a landfill in the village, where one banner was placed and one the front of the yard of the school. Within the framework of the campaign, there was also a public discussion that was attended by municipality representatives and school administration, where the Center youths requested additional bunkers. The municipal service centre made several considerations, and the new bunker has already been installed at the school.

The action was organized through the program PITA which is implemented by UNAG with the financial support of USAID. Young Pedagogues’ Union serves as a partner to the program.
