From amateur vineyard to entrepreneurial vineyard

📌On July 5, in the Guria region, a scientific conference was held in the public school of the village of Shemokmedi of the Ozurgeti municipality named Akaki Surguladze, within the framework of the project "From amateur vineyard to entrepreneurial vineyard" funded by the competition of school initiatives.
🎯The goal of the project was to strengthen research and entrepreneurship skills through the integration of school disciplines, and to gather existing knowledge about vines and wine through the involvement of students of the laboratory of ideas and entrepreneurship in the creator's community.
✅ The project was implemented by integrating the following subject disciplines: Georgian language and literature, biology, chemistry, mathematics, fine arts, folklore, history, citizenship, geography, foreign language and computer technologies.
✏️adults explored the above subjects with the facilitation of teachers:
• History of wine-growing culture
• Chemical composition of wine, production technology, diseases
• The label and its influence on wine sales
• Variety of Guri vine varieties, distribution area and features
• Wine, wine cellar and culture and traditions of relationship with it in Guria
• Wine in gourmet cooking
• Wine production - profit; Damage to human health caused by excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages, etc.
After each topic, the adults gave recommendations to the responsible agencies. From the autumn semester, it is planned to conduct an advocacy campaign in accordance with the developed recommendations.
📍The school initiative was implemented with the financial support of the European Union (EU) and "Bread for the World" (Brot) projects "Skill Building and Innovative Job Opportunities for Regional Development of Georgia" and "For a Better Future". within the framework of which is carried out by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG), together with the Young Pedagogies' Union (YPU) and the Georgian Civic Development Association (GCDA).
